If you follow me on Twitter you may have stumbled across my mildly melodramatic (who, me?) tweets during the last heat wave. I may have stated that I couldn’t be more done with the summer and ready for the autumn. How silly I was. Only after beholding the stunning orange skirt that DownEast Basics recently sent me did my craving for Fall fully take hold.
I had the hardest time choosing which of their items to request after they so generously offered to send me a piece of my choosing but after receiving my On the Dot skirt I can say with absolute certainty that I chose wisely.
Isn’t she adorable? I cannot wait to pair her with chocolate brown tights and warm boots! Perhaps I’ll even find a matching scarf! And do you see those polka dots? (And that waistband? And those gathers?) I am such a sucker for polka dots. (And wide waistbands. And gathers.)
Oh, and did I mention that it’s super well-made and reasonably priced? LOVE this company.
In conclusion, I am absolutely smitten with the skirt and so my love affair with DownEast Basics continues.

I almost pinned the polka-dot skirt, too, but I couldn’t figure out what sort of shirt it should be worn with. If you’re ever in need of blog post ideas, Hallie, I think a mini tutorial on how to pair shirts and skirts would be very cool (for those who, like me, like skirts but are intimidated by them!)

I’ve been a fan of their clothes for some time. I love that they always carry dresses that are wearable (as in, long enough, no plunging necklines or see through fabric – and in many cases – they even have sleeves! Sleeveless is good when it’s hot, but not in the winter)

I don’t know if it is because I have been reading too many Dick and Jane books lately or if I really like plaid… I pinned the Amy Bee skirt in plaid. :) I need simple, everyday clothes that are cute and practical…this one in cotton would be great! There were others that I really loved, but if I were to spend the money right now, I would have to go practical…but cute! I love the cute Spotty Dotty dress! I have a fuller figure and just know it would look so cute in this dress! My husband would love to see it on me on our 5th Wedding anniversary too!
