Lovely Links!

by Hallie @ Moxie Wife on November 18, 2012

Hello, pretty ladies!

Thanksgiving week is upon us and I suspect much of the online world will quietly go into a brief hibernation, as usual. I know I won’t be posting much this week (though you’ll most likely find me on Twitter bemoaning my poor cooking skills). It’s been a while since I put up one of my Lovely Links posts, though, so I thought I’d share a few of my favorite links from the past couple of weeks for you to enjoy during any brief moments of rest amidst this otherwise happily chaotic week!

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

I find this story of a young couple determined to protect their marriage so inspiring. Thank you for sharing it, Christie!

This review of my husband’s new book, Choosing Joy, took my breath away. Do read it! Jen really nails what the book is all about.

Are any of you traveling out of town with your better half this week? Here’s a fantastic list of questions you can ask one another! What a great way to pass the time!

I already posted this on the Moxie Wife Facebook page so forgive me if this is a repeat for you, but aren’t these the most adorable trinket boxes? I am definitely adding one to my Christmas wish list! I just love adding little touches of whimsy to my life, don’t you?

So, wow. BB Cream is all the rage these days, isn’t it? I must admit I’ve only tried samples of one or two brands and haven’t found anything I love yet. For those of you who, like me, are still searching for your perfect match, this BB Cream guide looks very helpful. I may try Olay’s CC Cream next since the Daily Makeover gals claim it’s the most lightweight. Or maybe Dr. Jart+ Water Fuse Beauty Balm since it’s supposed to be great for pale skin. I’ll keep you posted!

Do the many different varieties of high heels leave your head spinning? Here is an adorable visual to help you keep them all straight!

How can a married woman be a bride of Christ? Do read Simcha’s beautiful and insightful reflection on this question! It’s fantastic.

JessieLeigh’s post, Three (Easy) Ways to Gift Your Husband, is great for any of us wives who are looking to stretch ourselves a bit for the sake of our marriages. It’s funny how sometimes the “easy” things are the ones that turn out to be the most challenging.

And last but not least, here’s a little witty repartee between a hilarious man and his equally funny wife. Adorable!

Happy reading, girls! I’ll be back after Christmas with a very special giveaway related to my husband’s new book, Choosing Joy. I’m also tickled pink to be hosting a Shabby Apple giveaway soon.  You’re going to love them both! Promise!

I hope you all have joy-filled and absolutely delicious (in every way) Thanksgivings!

I looooove the Dr. Jart+ Water Fuse Beauty Balm. My favorite BB cream, hands down (though I’ve also only tried a few).

just a question about Olay products. Has it ever been proven or disproven that their cosmetics contain collagen from aborted babies? I really want to know because I quit using it because of this issue. Thank you.

Wow, I’ve never heard that. It sounds kind of far fetched. I loved the makeup Olay used to make about 10 years ago. It was light and blended well and my skin just glowed, so I’m going to try out this new line.

Just bought your husband’s book based on Jen’s review. I am not a book buyer (I much prefer library check out because I’m frugal, aka cheap, like that), but it sounds like just the book I need right now! I’m very excited to sneak this into my stocking. ;)

Eeek! Thanks for the shout out!

I’m SO looking forward to reading your husband’s book! The excerpts I’ve come across so far are terrific. Profound with no hint of pretentiousness. Really happy for you both, such an accomplishment!

Thanks for the link to the breakdown on BB Creams. My personal fav is the Garnier (medium/light shade), but I haven’t tried any others, so who knows. I might give the Olay brand a try just to compare, but the Garnier does everything I want which is mainly to diminish my pores and imperfections and give a nice light glow. I’ve never been a big foundation person, so I like that it’s feels like nothing more than applying moisturizer.
