“There was one teeny moment of panic right before Mass started when I couldn’t get my great-great-nana’s antique fan properly fastened around my wrist and it was a million degrees under my veil but as soon as the doors opened and I could see John, I knew everything was going to be okay. It still felt sort of surreal – like, oh hey, this is our wedding – but my dad kissed my cheek and shook John’s hand and stepped back, and then we were side by side and whatever happened I knew it was going to be okay.
The first thing he did when we sat down was check my pulse.”
More sweet details here! Congratulations, Miriel and John!
I cannot believe he is already three months old. There are no words to describe how much I love this boy.
This is from the weekend before last when family friend Patrick Allen became Deacon Patrick Allen. I wasn’t able to attend but from what I hear, this was taken moments after his son, Henry, scrambled out of his pew to keep his dad, who lay prostrate on the floor of the church, company. Is this photo not the sweetest thing? I get choked up every time I see it.
In related news, this past Sunday Deacon Patrick Allen became Father Patrick Allen! Please keep him and his loved ones in your prayers. Dan had the privilege of leading the catechism classes for the Charleston Ordinariate and it’s been such a joy to witness their journey. If you have a moment, you should read their story. It’s absolutely beautiful.
I’m very bad at pregnancy and always gain a ridiculous amount of weight. I’ve been working on getting back in shape and this Kettlebell workout is by far my favorite strength routine. It’s killer but pretty much guarantees immediate results.
If you’re in need of a good summer poolside, hammock, or beach read, Elin Hildebrand’s latest novel, Beautiful Day, was just released. I enjoyed it every bit as much as her earlier other novels – which is saying a lot. She is easily my favorite chick-lit novelist.
Oh, and just so you know, there might be just a few frisky moments in the book. Don’t say I didn’t warn you. ;)
